Do Law Schools Require CASPer? What the 2026–27 List Shows

Updated By Mahad Farooq · Founder, CasperCoach

Not in the 2026–2027 cycle, according to Acuity's official program list. Its Dates and Fees page has a Juris Doctor (JD) program type under US CASPer 2, but no law schools are listed for this cycle. We found no law program type for Canada, the UK, Australia, Ireland or New Zealand. If a specific law school tells you to take CASPer, follow its instructions and check the test type on Acuity's page.

What Acuity's official list shows

Acuity's Dates and Fees page is where it lists, by country and program type, the schools that use CASPer and the test type each requires. Its help article calls it the main resource for finding the test your programs need. We checked it on November 6, 2026, with the 2026–2027 cycle selected.

Law programs on Acuity's Dates and Fees page (checked November 6, 2026)
CountryWhat the page showed
United StatesA "Juris Doctor (JD)" program type appears under United States Casper 2 (CSP-20100). Selecting it shows: "There are no schools available for the selected program(s) in this admissions cycle."
CanadaNo law program type is listed.
United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, New ZealandNo law program type is listed.

Programs that do use US CASPer 2 this cycle include dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, veterinary medicine and others. Our guide to CASPer test types explains the categories.

What an empty JD category means

The JD option shows that law is a program type in Acuity's system. It does not show that any law school requires CASPer now. For the 2026–2027 cycle, the page says no schools are available for that program type, so there is no law school you can select or send results to.

Participation can change between cycles. If you are applying to law school in a later cycle, check the list again for that cycle.

Searches that name specific law schools

People search for CASPer alongside the names of particular law schools. Acuity's current list shows no law school for 2026–2027, and our searches found no law school admissions page requiring CASPer. We have not verified any school's past use, so we do not repeat claims about it here.

If a law school's own website or application asks for CASPer, that instruction is what matters for your application. Contact the admissions office if it does not say which test type to book, because CASPer results only go to programs on the right test type.

How to check a specific school yourself

  1. Open Acuity's Dates and Fees page.
  2. Select the country, then the admissions cycle you are applying in.
  3. Choose the program type, such as Juris Doctor (JD), and look at the schools list.
  4. If your school appears, note the required test type, the last test date and the distribution deadline.
  5. If it does not appear, check the school's own admissions requirements before booking anything.

If you have already taken CASPer for a health program, that result will not carry over. Acuity says a score is valid only for one admissions cycle and one test type. See how long a CASPer score is valid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do any law schools require CASPer in 2026–2027?+

Acuity's Dates and Fees page lists a Juris Doctor (JD) program type under US CASPer 2, but showed no schools for the 2026–2027 cycle when we checked on November 6, 2026. A school's own admissions page is the final word.

Is CASPer used for law school in Canada?+

When we checked on November 6, 2026, Acuity's list for Canada showed no law program type.

Can I use my CASPer score from a health program for law school?+

No. Acuity says a CASPer score is valid only for one admissions cycle and one test type, so a result for another program type would not transfer.

How do I know which CASPer test a program needs?+

Use Acuity's Dates and Fees page: select the country, cycle and program type, then check the required test type, last test date and distribution deadline for your schools.

Sources and scope

Checked November 6, 2026 on Acuity's Dates and Fees page (2026–2027 cycle), with its Dates and Fees help article and score validity article. Other countries on the list were not all checked. The list changes over time, so treat this as a dated snapshot. CasperCoach is independent of Acuity Insights and of any law school.
