The deadline: submit at least four weeks before CASPer
The official 2026 request form says all materials for CASPer must arrive at least four weeks before the assessment date. Exceptions are limited to extreme circumstances such as medical emergencies or certain CaRMS deadlines.
Work backward from the earliest test date your programs accept. If your planned test is September 15, aim to send a complete package no later than August 18, and earlier if possible. Do not use the application deadline for your school as the accommodation deadline; they are different clocks.

Forms and documentation you need
1. An Acuity Insights account
Acuity cannot begin processing until you have created the account used for CASPer. The organization recommends reserving your test before applying when possible. If reservations are not open, you may submit early with an intended date, but you must contact the team after booking so the measure can be applied manually.
2. Part 1, completed by you

Closed captioning is already available on assessment videos via a player toggle. Unlimited time, individual alternate start times, and splitting CASPer over multiple days are not supported under the current form.
Never bring an unapproved person into the room or turn on an assistive tool “just in case.” Acuity's test-security rules prohibit both unless they are explicitly approved.
How approved extra time changes the CASPer timer
Acuity applies a time multiplier to the pages and sections named in the approval. Its published examples show this math:

Extra time does not let you return to completed pages or bank time for the end. It also does not slow video playback. Follow the exact approval letter rather than extrapolating from the examples.
What happens after you submit the request?
- Receipt: Acuity says it generally acknowledges the package within one business day.
- Review: The team may ask for clarification or more documentation.
- Decision: Only the formal Accommodation Approval Letter counts as approval.
- Application: Approved measures are applied to the relevant reservation and should appear in the CASPer checklist in your account.
- Verification: Check the account before test day. A conversation about possible measures is not the same as the final approval package.
If you book a new reservation after approval, notify the accommodations team. The published measures summary asks for at least one week's notice for a new reservation; otherwise the measure may not be applied in time and you may need to reschedule.
