How Much Is the CASPer Test? 2026–27 Fees

Updated By Mahad Farooq · Founder, CasperCoach

For the 2026–27 cycle, CASPer costs $85 USD for US medical school applicants, which includes sending your score to 9 schools, or $50 CAD for the Canadian Casper 2 test. Each additional school costs $20 in the same currency. Duet is included at no extra charge, and every fee is non-refundable.

Fees checked October 10, 2026 on Acuity Insights' Dates and Fees page. Fees are set per test type, so select your own programs there to see the exact amount before you pay.

CASPer Fees by Test Type

Test typeTest feeEach additional school
US Medicine (CSP-10111)$85 USD, includes 9 schools$20 USD
Canada, Casper 2 (CSP-10211)$50 CAD$20 CAD

Other test types, such as US professional health sciences, Australian, or UK programs, have their own fee schedules. Not sure which test you need? Our CASPer 1 vs CASPer 2 guide explains the test types.

What You Pay to Send Your Score to Schools

Your one CASPer score goes to every program on your distribution list for that test type and cycle. The per-school fee is where the total grows.

  • US example: applying to 12 medical schools costs $85 for the test and your first 9 schools, plus 3 x $20 for the rest, for $145 USD in total.
  • Adding schools later: you can add a program before or after you take the test, as long as that program's distribution deadline has not passed. Each addition is charged at the per-school rate.
  • Programs that need an ID: if a program requires an applicant ID you do not have yet, you can add it after the test once the ID arrives.

For the step-by-step process, see how to send CASPer scores.

Retakes, Rescheduling, and Refunds

  • No retakes in the same cycle: you cannot take the same CASPer test type more than once per admissions cycle, so there is no "retake fee" to budget for. If you apply again next cycle, you take a new test and pay the fees again, because scores are valid for one cycle only. More in can you retake CASPer?
  • Rescheduling: Acuity charges a fee if you reschedule within 30 days before your confirmed test date or at any time after it. Moving earlier than that has no listed fee. See how to reschedule CASPer.
  • Refunds: all fees are final and non-refundable, and they only apply to the current admissions cycle.

How to Keep Your CASPer Costs Down

  • Only add schools you will apply to: Acuity itself recommends reserving a test or adding a program only once you are sure you need it, since nothing is refundable.
  • Book your date early: picking a date you can keep avoids the late rescheduling fee.
  • Check the right test type: separate test types, such as US and Canadian programs, each need their own test and their own fee.
  • Fee assistance: Acuity currently accepts several approved U.S. and UK assistance programs, including AAMC, AACOMAS, ADEA, CASPA, selected Texas programs, and the UK UCAS Bursary. Check the exact eligibility and upload steps in our CASPer fee-waiver guide.
