CASPer for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Programs
Many speech-language pathology (SLP) and audiology graduate programs now require CASPer. For 2026–27, Acuity lists SLP programs at McGill, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Western and several French-language Quebec and Ottawa programs in Canada; at Arizona State, Augusta, East Carolina, Grand Valley State, Georgia and Tennessee in the US; and at Macquarie and Melbourne in Australia. All of them use a graduate-level (Casper 2) test for their country.

The US audiology category on Acuity's page had no schools listed for 2026–27. Always confirm on each program's admissions page, since requirements can change during a cycle.
Canadian language rules for SLP
Canada has the most SLP programs on the list, and several are in Quebec or Ottawa. Acuity's language article says you must take CASPer in the language of the program, and bilingual programs accept either English or French, but only one score, set by a distribution-language choice you make at your first Canadian booking of the cycle.
Programs such as McGill, uOttawa and UQTR appear on both the English and French lists, while Université de Montréal and Université Laval orthophonie appear on the French list only. Applying in more than one country
Acuity's country article says each country has its own CASPer category and results are not transferable. An applicant to Western in Canada and East Carolina in the US needs a Canadian Casper 2 and a United States Casper 2. Within one country, programs that share a test type can all receive the same sitting.

How SLP applicants should prepare
SLP and audiology are communication professions, so CASPer's focus on clear reasoning and empathy suits you. A few targeted tips:
- Lean into the video section. You have 1 minute per video question. Practise speaking a decision and two reasons clearly without rushing; see video-response practice.
- Show you adjust communication. Scenarios often involve explaining something to someone upset or confused. The communication workbook is a good fit.
- Respect autonomy and dignity. Many scenarios turn on letting people make their own choices. The empathy questions practise this.
- Remember the format is general. You will not be asked about speech disorders or hearing science.
