CASPer Results Delivered, Pending or Undefined: What It Means

Updated By Mahad Farooq · Founder, CasperCoach

“Completed – Results delivered” means Acuity has sent your CASPer results to the programs on your distribution list. “Results pending” means they are still being processed. Programs usually receive results two to three weeks after the test, but your own quartile arrives later, at four to five weeks. Seeing “delivered” before you have a quartile is normal.

What each CASPer status means

Acuity's delivery article says to check status by logging in, opening the Reservations section and reading your test status. Its quartile article covers the separate “View quartile score” link.

“Delivered” tells you nothing about how well you did. Programs receive a score you will not see. Acuity does not share the numerical score with applicants; you receive a quartile instead.

The normal CASPer results timeline

  1. Within 24 hours of the test: a completion confirmation email, according to Acuity's before, during and after guide.
  2. About 2 to 3 weeks: results are processed and sent to the programs on your distribution list. Your status changes from pending to delivered. No email is sent for this.
  3. About 4 to 5 weeks: your quartile is ready. Acuity emails you, and the “View quartile score” link appears.
  4. Programs added later: once the initial 2 to 3 weeks have passed, results go to newly added programs within one business day.

Our CASPer results timeline guide covers delays and CaRMS differences. When your quartile arrives, the percentile and quartile guide explains what it can and cannot tell you.

Results delivered but the school has not received them

Acuity's delivery article says individual programs may need extra time to update their records after receiving scores. A short gap between “delivered” in your account and “received” in a school portal is expected. If the gap lasts, work through these checks in order.

  1. Confirm the program is on your distribution list for the right test and cycle.
  2. Compare your details. Acuity says your name, ID numbers, date of birth and email address should be identical in your Acuity account and your applications; mismatches can delay matching.
  3. Give the program reasonable time to update its system.
  4. Contact the program's admissions office with your test date and delivery status, since the record is now on their side.
  5. Contact Acuity through the chat in your account if the status is still pending well after three weeks, or something looks wrong with your list.

For adding schools or fixing the list itself, see how to send CASPer scores.

If your CASPer score says “undefined”

Many applicants search for this label, but we found no Acuity page that explains it. Some websites claim that an undefined percentile is caused by a small applicant pool or clustered scores. They cite no official source, and we do not repeat that claim as fact.

What is documented is the timing. Programs receive results at about two to three weeks, and your quartile is ready at about four to five weeks, with an email when it is. So, if you see “undefined”:

  • Before about five weeks and without a quartile email: your quartile is not yet due, so wait for the email.
  • After the quartile email, or well past five weeks: contact Acuity support through the chat in your account and ask what the label means for your test.

Do not try to estimate your result from the label. Your score is calculated from rated responses, and no account label replaces the quartile Acuity releases.
