Which costs less for your situation
- Cramming for a few days: StudyCasper's weekly pass is $39.99, slightly less than CasperCoach's US$49. Remember to cancel it, because it renews weekly. The first weekly pass has a 3-day money-back guarantee.
- Two to twelve weeks of prep: CasperCoach costs US$49 for the whole 90 days. On StudyCasper, two weekly passes ($79.98) already cost as much as lifetime, so you would buy lifetime at $79.99.
- More than one admissions cycle: CASPer results are valid for one cycle only, so reapplicants have to retest. StudyCasper's lifetime access never expires, which makes it cheaper if you expect to prepare again next year. CasperCoach would be a second US$49 purchase.

Free tiers compared
This is the clearest practical difference. StudyCasper's FAQ says a free account includes 5 practice scenarios and the free typing test, and that “AI grading and feedback unlock with a paid plan.” Its homepage also lists 16 public scenarios you can read. So the free tier lets you practise the timing but not see how you were graded.
CasperCoach's 3 free scenarios come with the same rating and written feedback paid users get, so you can judge whether the feedback helps before you pay. StudyCasper's free typing test is useful either way: slow typing quietly limits typed answers. Our CASPer typing practice page has another free drill.
How the feedback differs
StudyCasper grades each answer at the competency level against a quartile benchmark, with notes such as whether you named the core tension, considered both perspectives and committed to a specific action, plus fixes for your next attempt.
CasperCoach gives a strict 1 to 5 rating with genuine strengths, specific gaps and concrete suggestions. A generic answer with no stakeholders or concrete action cannot score above 2, which some users find harsh but useful. Your dashboard turns your average rating into a projected quartile band. See how to use CasperCoach.
Both are fixed AI rubrics. Real CASPer answers are rated by trained human raters and standardized against your applicant pool, so neither tool's quartile is a prediction of your official result. Read how CASPer is scored.
Which should you choose?
Choose StudyCasper if
- You may need CASPer in more than one cycle, so lifetime access saves money.
- Your test is days away and one weekly pass covers it.
- You want the typing test and competency-by-competency grading.
Choose CasperCoach if
- You want to see real feedback free before paying anything.
- You are preparing over several weeks for one cycle and want one fixed price with nothing to cancel.
- You want a full-length mock in the current 4-video, 7-typed format.
Since both have free tiers, the simplest test is to try a few scenarios on each and keep the one whose feedback you would actually act on.
Getting the most from either platform
- Start with Acuity's free official practice test. Acuity says its users tend to outperform people who use third-party prep, and it doesn't endorse any prep company.
- Practise under the real timer: 3.5 minutes for two typed answers and 60 seconds per video answer.
- After each graded answer, rewrite it once using the feedback before trying a new scenario.
- Track your two most frequent gaps and practise them on purpose.
