CasperCoach Review: Features, Price and Honest Limits

Updated By Mahad Farooq · Founder, CasperCoach
Disclosure: CasperCoach wrote this page about our own product. We have tried to describe it the way a fair reviewer would, including what it does not do. CasperCoach is independent of Acuity Insights, which runs CASPer and does not endorse any third-party preparation.

CasperCoach is an AI CASPer practice platform. You answer original CASPer-style scenarios under the real typed and video time limits, and each answer gets a strict rating with specific written feedback. It costs $49 once for 90 days, with 3 free scenarios to try first. It suits applicants who want lots of timed, rated repetitions cheaply. It is not a replacement for a human coach, and its scores are not official.

What CasperCoach is

CasperCoach is a web app for practising the CASPer situational judgment test. It focuses on one loop: attempt a scenario under real time pressure, read specific feedback, fix one weakness and try again on a fresh scenario. Everything runs in the browser; video practice needs a microphone, and a camera is optional.

It is not affiliated with Acuity Insights. Acuity provides a free official practice test that we recommend everyone take to learn the real interface. That rehearsal does not give scores or feedback, which is the gap CasperCoach is built for.

Price and plans

  • Free: 3 practice scenarios with ratings and feedback. No card required.
  • Full access: $49 USD once, for 90 days, about $0.54 a day. This includes the full mock test. The listed comparison price is $99; the current price is $49.
  • No subscription: it does not auto-renew, so there is nothing to cancel.

For context, the CASPer test itself has its own fees paid to Acuity; see how much CASPer costs. Private tutoring usually costs much more per hour; our CASPer tutor guide compares options.

What CasperCoach does well

  • Real timing. Typed and video clocks follow the current official format, so you practise the actual pressure.
  • Specific, strict feedback. The rubric is harsh by design. Generic answers cannot score above 2 out of 5, so you find out quickly when an answer is vague.
  • Volume. You can do many more rated repetitions than you could book with a tutor, which helps when you need to build speed.
  • Video practice on content. Spoken answers are transcribed and rated on what you said, which is what Acuity says raters focus on.
  • Simple pricing. One payment covers a typical preparation window.

CasperCoach reports 5,700+ applicants using the platform and an average rating of 4.8/5. 92% of our users hit the 4th quartile. CasperCoach-reported user outcomes. Individual results vary, and practice quartile estimates are not official Acuity Insights scores. Treat any prep company's outcome figures, including ours, as marketing rather than independent evidence.

Honest limits

  • No human coach. Feedback comes from an AI evaluator following a fixed rubric. It can miss nuance or misread an answer, and it cannot talk through your reasoning with you.
  • Practice scores are not official. A projected quartile bands your average practice rating; it does not compare you with the real applicant pool.
  • No delivery coaching. Video ratings ignore appearance and delivery by design, so eye contact and pacing are up to your own review.
  • Session-based results. The results page shows scenarios from your current browser session, so keep your own notes if you want a long-term log.
  • You may not need it. Acuity says you do not need any paid preparation, and some applicants do well with the official practice test and self-review alone.

How it compares with other options

  • Free self-study: the official practice test plus our free practice test and question guides cost nothing, but you must judge your own answers.
  • ChatGPT: flexible and cheap, but you have to build the timing and rubric yourself. See CasperCoach vs ChatGPT.
  • Prep companies and tutors: human feedback and coaching, usually at a higher price. See our BeMo review and platform rankings.

Who should use CasperCoach

Good fit: you have a test date in the next few weeks or months, you want to practise under real time limits, and you learn well from quick, specific feedback and repetition. It is especially useful if you run out of time or write vague answers.

Poor fit: you want one-to-one human coaching, you need help with delivery and on-camera confidence more than content, or you want a reliable prediction of your official quartile. No practice tool can give you that last one.

The simplest way to decide is to try the 3 free scenarios and see whether the feedback changes how you write your next answer.
